Rules and Regulations
Under the Fire Safety order 2005 which became law on the 1st October 2006 it is now mandatory to undertake a written fire risk assessment.

The order applies to all work premises in England and Wales and is applicable to employers and self employed persons having business premises, persons in control of premises and voluntary organizations.
Employers who are employing 5 or more employees and for licensed premises which have a alterations notice must have a risk assessment available.
